About AgeSmart

AgeSmart Fitness Studio offers small-group fitness classes designed to help adults stay strong, balanced, mobile, and confident as they age.

Our classes focus on functional strength, balance, coordination, and sustainable movement that supports everyday life. Whether your goal is to improve stability, maintain independence, build strength, or simply feel better in your body, we’re here to help you move well for the long term.

AgeSmart Fitness Studio began as small-group exercise classes, but over time it has grown into something much broader: a community-centered space designed to support healthy aging in many different ways.

While movement, strength, and balance training remain the foundation of our work, we also believe that health and independence are deeply connected to community, purpose, learning, and social connection. Our studio encourages members to stay active not only physically, but socially and mentally as well.

In addition to fitness classes, we offer opportunities for connection through book discussions, educational talks, student art gallery openings, recipe sharing, walking groups, new member coffees, and the ongoing exchange of resources, encouragement, and support.

Our goal is to create a modern village model for aging adults — a place where people feel welcomed, known, and supported. Members of AgeSmart become part of a community where people look out for one another and continue to stay engaged physically, mentally, and socially.

We want AgeSmart to be a place where aging is approached with strength, dignity, curiosity, and connection.

Our Team

Beth Morris, CPT

Lead Trainer / Founder

Beth Morris is a certified personal trainer, writer, and founder of AgeSmart Fitness and The Social Muscle Method. She specializes in helping adults build strength, balance, and confidence through small-group training that is both highly personalized and deeply social.

After a midlife career shift from publishing and tech into fitness, Beth saw a gap in how programs were designed—especially for adults who wanted more than just exercise. They wanted connection, accountability, and a place where they felt known. That insight became the foundation for The Social Muscle Method, a framework built on intentional class design, progressive strength training, and the belief that community is not a byproduct of fitness—it’s part of the work.

Beth’s classes are known for their thoughtful structure, attention to individual needs, and an atmosphere that prioritizes participation over performance. She integrates strength training, balance work, and cognitive challenges into sessions that are both effective and engaging, helping clients improve not just how they move, but how they live.

As a CPT, she also has certifications in Functional Aging, Corrective Exercise, Balance, and Brain Coaching. She teaches in Ashland, Oregon, where she works with a growing community of clients committed to getting stronger—together.

Peyton Hedges, CPT

Assistant Trainer / Office Manager

Peyton was born and raised in Portland, Oregon, where she stayed active from a young age through competitive volleyball and tennis. She discovered a love for yoga in college and has since expanded her fitness routine to include weight training and running.

Peyton’s favorite part of training is helping people discover what their bodies are capable of while finding new, engaging ways to move. She aims to help clients explore what works best for them and tap into the fun of movement and exercise.

She holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Oregon and is an ACE Certified Personal Trainer. Peyton emphasizes the connection between mind and body, helping clients build practical, sustainable approaches to fitness by meeting them where they are.
